Partnership for Family, Children and Adults

After being in business a year, I was approached by one of my good clients and asked to donate to Family & Children Services. Since 1992, I have been involved in fund raising in some capacity with FCS and then Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. It is an honor to help raise money for such a worthwhile organization and the important services they provide. In addition to fundraising activities, each year I have been intimately involved in creating images for the Partnership to use in promoting their signature fund raising event, "Dancing With the Chattanooga Stars". Always a great group of people and it's such fun realizing the ideas we come up with during our planning sessions.

Chattanooga Symphony & Opera

My involvement with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera began when I approached them about ways to enhance their image. I presented an idea to showcase the different principal musicians through images of them and their instruments as well as creating new portraits of Maestro Robert Bernhardt. The portraits were displayed around town as well as used in the CSO marketing materials. The idea being, to have not only elegant formal portraits, but to show the fun side of the musicians and create images that would help to connect prospective patron and audience members to the talented people that make up the CSO. It has been a challenging and rewarding project to create new imagery every year. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Maestro Kayoko Dan the first week she was in Chattanooga, which is one of the things that I love most about the volunteer work I do, getting to know so many members of the orchestra and enjoying our continuing relationship.

Chattanooga Theatre Centre

The year was 1986, I was only doing photography part time but my sister was in a show at the then Little Theatre of Chattanooga. At the last minute the photographer they were using couldn’t take the necessary production photographs so my sister volunteered me! At first, I only did the production photographs, but before long I was doing all their publicity images. Over the years I have made many friends from my theatre connections and a lot of my best clients are patrons. Every year I am honored to donate my time and expertise to create imagery that will help the Chattanooga Theatre Centre promote their productions. I love the arts and am thrilled to be able to do what I can to enhance their stature and recognition in the community.

Go Red for Women

Creating the calendar “Men Go Red” was a fun way to spread the word about women and their #1 killer – heart disease.  It was exciting to be part of a great project to help raise funds for heart disease, stroke education, and research. At the studio, it was all hands on deck for two jam-packed days with sessions at different locations around town.  The mission, create 12 exciting, one of a kind, photographs each representing activities that are important to heart health. A concept for each month was planned out ahead of time. Then scheduling all the participants at the appropriate times, where they needed to be around town, what to wear, and what accessories needed to be included came next. Terran Anderson and Brooke Fontana from Chattanooga AHA were great to work with, coordinating our “super stars” and getting permission to photograph at different locations. We are proud to sponsor the calendar and volunteer our time and resources for the American Heart Association.
